Elf Review by Julie Rybka of New York Mills

Thanks to the Bank of Utica and The Broadway Theatre League, I was recently given the opportunity to watch the magical story of Buddy the Elf live on stage in the musical adaption of “Elf”. Having been a huge fan of the movie, I had high expectations for this show. I was, simply put, not disappointed. The show featured many fun, new Christmas songs that I had never heard before, but it still remained loyal to the storyline of the beloved comedy. I was thrilled when I heard my favorite movie lines had made it into the show and laughed even harder at some of the jokes they added in. The performers executed their roles in a way I was not expecting. From the dancing to the singing, I was pleasantly surprised. “Elf” was a great show for adults and children alike and was the perfect way to start off this holiday season. Happy holidays and I cannot wait to see everyone at “It’s Nice Work If You Can Get It” on January 27th and 28th! #BTLYAP – at Stanley Theater.
